Genesis (1.1)

It wasn’t until after escaping the “Land of Entrapment” to Nashville, TN in pursuit of a career in music that I began to really appreciate my upbringing and hometown. As long as I can remember, my dad always had a jewelry shop somewhere in our home. I’d occasionally pop in and silently observe until I finally decided I wanted to learn. He first taught me to make copper rings and let me try my hand at the acetylene torch. I made a few rings for friends but never had any ambition to do anything with it at the time.

Years later in 2014, when I was visiting home pursuing marriage with my now-wife Bree, did my skills come in handy. I put out a feeler to my online audience to see if anyone wanted a custom souvenir from New Mexico and the response blew me away. Orders flooded in and I went to work using all of my dad’s tools and even some of his turquoise. Soon, I made the cash I needed to buy an engagement ring, proposed, and had Bree move to Nashville with me.

I kept at it and my dad would supply me with what I needed long distance, only this time I payed for the materials. Soon, my stuff got picked up by East Nashville’s, Moto Moda. My confidence was building and I did nothing but work, work, work.

Moving Back West (1.2)

After getting married, we spent another year or so in Nashville. Bree would ask many times if I’d ever be interested in moving back home but to no avail, until one day after the good Lord moved some mountains around in my heart, I finally agreed. Just a couple short months later we were headed back to “The Land of Enchantment”.

The Promise Land (1.3)

With a refreshed heart and love for the Southwest, we found ourselves back in the desert, the place where the inspiration came from, where life slows down, and where people are simple and down to earth. I’d often wonder, ”How or why would anyone leave this beautiful place?”
